Fairfax Media House has been awarded the Australian Development of the Year Award at the 2012 Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards.
The 2012 Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards’ Australian Development of the Year Award has been won by Fairfax Media House. Located in Docklands, Melbourne, the five-star Green Star development, which was completed in 2009, houses The Age newspaper, Australian Financial Review and 3AW. It is owned by Commonwealth Property Office Fund and was nominated by Grocon.
Fairfax Media House beat 101 contenders from across the country to claim the award and also won the Colliers International Award for Best Office Development and the Project Control Group Award for Best Workplace Project. “Fairfax Media House is an outstanding showcase of what Australia’s property industry can produce,” said Ken Morrison, Property Council of Australia Chief Operating Officer, comments. “The development has achieved outstanding benchmarks in innovation and sustainability.”
Michael Kerr, director of Rider Levett Bucknall, adds that Fairfax Media House has made a mark on the Australian property industry with its innovation and excellence.
The 2012 Innovation and Excellence Award winners were announced at the awards’ gala dinner, which was held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on 26 May 2012. The awards showcase Australia’s finest projects and celebrate innovation and leading practice within the property development and investment industries.
