16 March 2011 – Venue and facility managers, educators and others can get ‘hands on’ access to the world’s newest signage and educational media platforms at Macquarie University, NSW, on 18-19 April.
Launched in Australia last year, the Microsoft Surface is a 360-degree computing table that responds to multiple users’ touches. It is designed for multiple users at once and, with its rich graphics capabilities, has been hailed as nothing less than an education ‘revolution’. There are fewer than 10 Surface units in Australia, making this demonstration an extra special event.
Object Consulting, which will perform the demonstration, will install its Surface and reveal how its Connected Experience applications can be implemented as a compelling visual aid in libraries, museums, and other venues.
Specifically, Connected Experience will demonstrate how users can zoom in and out of large amounts of information, and manipulate data using natural touch and gestures. This, combined with rich graphics capabilities, opens up a new field of opportunity for communicating information.
The demonstrations will be run at Macquarie University, E11A, Art Gallery.
Object Consulting is a market leader in multi-touch technologies. Recent projects have included the Maritime Museum, as well as Australia’s first Surface applications for the Victorian Electoral Commission, ANZ Bank and others. The company is one of a handful of Microsoft Surface strategic partners across the globe and has 250+ consultants engaged each day in projects that help enterprise, government and institutions achieve their business goals.
