WA Safety Show back in August

10 August 2010 – Western Australia’s largest workplace safety trade show, the WA Safety Show, returns to Perth from 24-26 August, 2010.

The inaugural WA Safety SHOW show in 2008 attracted 4000 visits, with the mining, building and construction, and manufacturing sectors dominating the visitor list. WA Safety Show organiser Marie Kinsella of Australian Exhibitions & Conferences expects similar attendances this year.
“This show only comes around once every two years and the response to the inaugural WA Safety Show highlighted that the west deserves and demands local support from specialist suppliers,” Kinsella says.
“In one afternoon at the WA Safety Show, visitors can find solutions to the vast array of safety challenges they face, such as radiation, noise, vehicle and lone worker safety, materials handling and even wellness.”
As well as staying abreast of the technological advances in safety, the WA Safety Show promises to keep visitors informed of the latest regulatory changes. A new model Work Health and Safety Act to be implemented right around Australia was announced in December 2009 and seminars at the show will outline the implications for Western Australian workplaces.
“Western Australia’s position on the harmonisation of OHS laws is different,” Kinsella says. “We’ll have experts at the show to explain what changes employers can expect and how they should prepare.”
The WA Safety Show and the concurrent WA Safety Conference presented by the Safety Institute of Australia in WA will run from 24-26 August, 2010, at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
