4 September 09 - A $7500 Victorian Government grant will help Notting Hill company Verified plan for international expansion.
Visiting the business as part of Community Cabinet, Small Business Minister Joe Helper recently announced the ‘Grow Your Business’ grant for Verified, a company which provides services to help organisations ensure compliance with essential services and fire safety measures.
“The Brumby Labor Government is taking action to secure jobs and support businesses during these tough global economic times,” Helper said.
“Verified will use its grant for a business development plan with a strong focus on developing new export opportunities.”
Founded in 2002, Verified has developed a unique recording and reporting system that uses the latest scanning technology to manage complex compliance, risk management, service delivery and the cost of compliance.
It has clients across Australia in a range of sectors such as government, manufacturing, services and retail.
International interest has been building strongly in Verified’s unique system, most notably in Thailand and Malaysia. Verified is currently translating its products into Thai and plans to open an office in Malaysia before the end of the year.
Helper said the Victorian Government had provided nearly $3 million in Grow Your Business grants to Victorian small businesses since February 2007.
Grow Your Business grants are available to eligible businesses and associations for:
• Business development plans - 50 percent of the cost, up to $7500;
• Business strategic reviews - 75 percent of the cost, up to $4000; and
• Group programs and network programs - 75 percent of the cost, up to $15,000.
