Making Australia a global leader in energy efficiency
Australia is lagging behind many other countries in the sustainability battle, ranking far behind on the energy efficiency scale. The National Energy Efficiency Council is tackling this notion and is hosting a forum in Sydney on 6 March – National Energy Efficiency Forum: Making Australia a global leader in energy efficiency.
A major drawcard to the forum will be its international keynote speaker, Christoph von Speßhardt. Von Speßhardt is the director of Public Affairs and Strategy for the Knauf Group, a world leading manufacturer of building products. He is also the vice-chair of DENEFF, the German business initiative for energy efficiency. He is considered one of Germany’s experts on the subject of energy efficiency.
The ACEEE (American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy) ranks Germany as the global leader on energy efficiency. Von Speßhardt will explain how this has been achieved, and how policy, technology and economics is driving better decision making on energy efficiency across the German economy.
Von Speßhardt is a passionate advocate for the role of the demand side in the energy transition underway around the world. Von Speßhardt will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss what Australia can learn from energy efficiency leadership in Germany and around the world.
