Honeywell to acquire US-based technology company
Honeywell has agreed to acquire supply chain and warehousing automation technology company, Intelligrated, for US$1.5 billion.
The deal is expected to close by the end of third quarter 2016, after which Intelligrated will become part of the Honeywell sensing and productivity solutions division, which sits under the automated and control solutions business.
According to Honeywell automation and control solutions chief executive officer Alex Ismail, “E-commerce continues to grow at an unprecedented rate and customer demands for faster delivery times have created a need for warehouse, logistics and fulfillment solutions that can increase productivity and lower costs for our customers.
“This acquisition fits with our vision for a connected industrial company and a connected worker.”
Intelligrated designs, manufactures, integrates and installs complete warehouse automation solutions, software and services that help achieve more efficient distribution operations.
Honeywell sensing and productivity solutions John Waldron adds, “Intelligrated’s leading supply chain automation solutions are a fantastic complement to Honeywell’s portfolio of industry-leading workflow performance solutions including cloud-connected mobile worker applications, high-performance data collection hardware, and other technologies to improve worker productivity.

Intelligrated is based in Ohio, United States, and employs more than 3100 people in manufacturing and regional offices across the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and China.
