Waste Education Conference: sharing our stories
Sustainability Victoria and Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group invite you to attend the second annual Waste Education Conference on 12 to 13 September 2017. Hear the latest in waste education from around Australia and the world throughout this two-day event.
The conference’s theme is ‘Sharing our Stories’ and provides attendees with an opportunity to share their work in waste education and litter and illegal dumping, as well as learn from others’ experiences.
When: Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 September
Where: Kalorama (40 mins from Melbourne CBD)
Cost: $100 for one day/$170 for two days – covers morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, free onsite parking and wi-fi, plus dinner on day one if you hold a two-day ticket (accommodation not included in ticket cost).
Who should attend? Anyone working in the waste and resource recovery education sector (at any level), with a focus on local government.
What will be covered? The conference will include presentations, project updates and hands-on workshops from Sustainability Victoria, Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group and other experts, focusing on the broad themes of:
- Sharing our stories
- Measuring success.
The conference is an interactive and engaging two-day experience designed for educators delivering waste/recycling and litter programs. The theme is sharing and celebrating project success stories. Sessions on how best to pitch your project, influence and gain support, communicate your message, gain stakeholder buy-in, establish partnerships, build capacity, and evaluate and showcase your success will be explored and workshopped.
There will also be networking opportunities with local government, industry, consultants, Waste and Resource Recovery Groups, Sustainability Victoria and other government agencies and behaviour change experts.
